Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is about preventing, treating and managing a variety of health complaints relating to injury, mobility, and movement. A physiotherapy consultation typically involves taking a full history of your complaint, and assessing how your body or limb moves, in order to diagnose injury and identify any underlying pathology, muscle weakness, tension and/or joint restriction. A management plan will be made with you, taking into account your own personal goals. Physiotherapy uses a range of treatment techniques including exercise prescription and progression, loading programmes, joint mobilization and manipulation, soft tissue massage , dry needling, myofascial and trigger point release methods, active and passive stretching and taping.

InForm physiotherapy encompasses a total holistic approach to musculoskeletal care facilitating full body rehabilitation, repair, and mobility.

Pilates

Pilates is an increasingly popular form of exercise that focuses on the retraining and recruitment of the deep stabilizing muscles of the body improving posture, strength, balance and flexibility. Clinical Pilates is delivered by a health professional trained in the Pilates method in which exercises are prescribed and adapted based on the individual.

InForm Pilates specializes in offering individually tailored, small group or private clinical Pilates classes to clients. Following a full assessment with Elaine, chartered physiotherapist and Pilates instructor, a personalized programme is designed with your own goals, injuries and physical ability in mind. Pilates programmes are designed to promote health, well-being and performance. Clinical Pilates is particularly effective as a form of rehabilitation after injury and/or surgery, as well as in the management of spinal pain and during and after pregnancy.

Women’s Health

At InForm we have a special interest in Women’s health, in particular the physiotherapy and exercise management during your pregnancy journey and postnatal recovery. Elaine believes in equipping women with the correct knowledge about the changes to their body during and after pregnancy so they feel supported and empowered to have a healthy pregnancy. She also hopes to guide mums safely and effectively back to pre pregnancy activity and wellbeing.

Pre- and post-natal Pilates programs are designed with the common pathologies and physical changes that occur during pregnancy in mind. With an emphasis on pelvic floor strength and endurance, exercise is prescribed and delivered to prepare your body for labour and the physical demands of being a new mum.

Pilates exercises can be tailored to limit and manage any pregnancy-related aches and pains, reduce and repair stomach muscle separation and tone and provide a safe, guided pathway for return to exercise. Breathing techniques for relaxation, discomfort and pain management are incorporated into all exercises to further prepare you for labour.
